Spring 2014 - Trends
So.. maybe you're wondering what the Street Moda team has their eye on? Well today I'm going to give you a little sneak peak into what is on my radar.
Sublimation
Sublimation began to make a splash in the men's fashion community earlier this year after been seen on the runway shows of designer labels like Givenchy. Some of the up and comers in our markets would have to be L.A.T.H.C, Los Angeles Tree House Club, which is the brain child of the well known brand of Altru, Hudson NYC, or DFYNT. The Street Moda buying team has already been hard at work opening accounts with these heavy hitters, and we're pleased to announce that we've landed all of them! You can go head and start stocking up on your sublimation t-shirts now, as they will be huge this spring.
Camouflage
We've seen camouflage prints around for a few seasons, no? Well, I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon. The traditional camo print is now being converted into a digital print giving a whole new life to the pattern. In GQ earlier this month I was reading their "Trend Forecast" for the year - camo was on there three times. Basically saying that it's just now coming up in some markets, it's reaching it's peak in others, and it's ready to bid adieu in a few markets. We've already got plenty of traditional camouflage pieces in our collections, but be on the look out for new camouflage prints this spring from the likes of WeSC.
Footwear
Well, last year we saw the emergence of neon laces and neon bottom shoes, which quickly made there way through the shoe industry and pretty quickly died out. This year the envelope pusher seems to be patterned men's dress shoes. Like bandana printed oxfords from Hillsboro. Heavy hitters like JackThreads have already swooped them up, but what do you guys think about them? Are they are a yes or a no?
